Russell W. Savory
Russell W. Savory concentrates his practice in Reorganization, Debt Restructuring, and Bankruptcy, representing Trustees, Debtors and Creditors. He has extensive experience handling business and consumer bankruptcy cases, has earned a Martindale Hubbell Peer Review Rating of "AV Preeminent" in Bankruptcy, and was a revising author of the seventh edition of Bankruptcy Law & Practice, Lexis Law Publishing . Russ also works in the firm’s landlord-tenant litigation practice.
Russ is admitted to practice in all Tennessee courts, the United States District Court, Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit and U.S. Supreme Court. He has also represented clients in bankruptcy cases in New York, Delaware, New Jersey, Georgia, Arkansas and Kentucky. He is a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute, Memphis Bar Association Bankruptcy Section, Turnaround Management Association and Tennessee Bar Association. He currently serves on the Board of the Mid-South Commercial Law Institute.
Russ received his law degree from Vanderbilt University in 1987, where he served on the Moot Court Board. He received his undergraduate degree magna cum laude from Washington & Jefferson College, where he was the William Holmes McGuffey Scholar in English and a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
Active in community affairs, Russ has served on the board of the Annesdale Park Association and has served as board member and president of the Cooper Young Community Association.
